Privacy Policy

Opal VPN is a VPN and connectivity application provided by the Opal VPN Team. In this policy, "Opal VPN", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the developer and operator of Opal VPN.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Opal VPN Android app, the Opal VPN website, and related support, subscription, and delivery services.

Depending on how you use Opal VPN, we may collect or process the following categories of information: account and sign-in data such as an email address or Google account identifier when you choose to sign in; subscription, license, plan, payment status, and purchase metadata; device and app information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, country or time-zone region, network status, advertising identifier where permitted, and diagnostics; VPN service information such as selected server or location, connection status, connection timestamps, protocol/configuration identifiers, server-side authentication identifiers, and aggregate data-transfer usage; support information that you send to us; and security or abuse-prevention logs such as IP address, request time, API endpoint, and error logs.

We do not intentionally collect the content of your communications, the websites you visit, or DNS queries for advertising profiling through the VPN service. VPN endpoints and infrastructure necessarily process network packets in order to route encrypted VPN traffic, but this processing is used to provide the VPN connection, maintain reliability, enforce subscriptions, prevent abuse, and protect the service.

Opal VPN uses Android's VpnService API because providing a VPN connection is the core functionality of the app. The VPN service creates an encrypted tunnel between your device and the selected VPN endpoint, helps protect traffic on public and private networks, and lets you choose or automatically select a VPN location.

Opal VPN does not use VpnService to redirect or manipulate traffic from other apps for advertising monetization. We do not sell your VPN traffic. If the app asks for VPN permission, that permission is used to create and manage the VPN tunnel and to show the connection state.

We use information to provide and maintain the VPN service; authenticate users and subscriptions; deliver server lists, configuration, location, and plan data; process purchases and support requests; detect fraud, abuse, excessive usage, and service attacks; improve reliability, performance, and user experience; send important service, security, or update notices; comply with legal, regulatory, tax, payment, and Google Play requirements; and show ads or measure ad performance only when advertising features are enabled and permitted.

Opal VPN may use third-party services that process data according to their own privacy policies. These services may include:

- AdMob mediation partners may process data when mediation is configured in the AdMob account and shown through Google's consent and advertising tools.

We are responsible for keeping our Google Play Data safety disclosures and this policy consistent with the data collected or shared by the app and any SDKs included in it.

We do not sell personal information. We may share limited information with service providers that help us operate Opal VPN, including hosting providers, VPN infrastructure providers, payment processors, analytics and diagnostics providers, advertising providers when ads are enabled, customer support tools, fraud-prevention providers, and legal or compliance advisors.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or enforceable government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect users, prevent abuse, investigate security incidents, enforce our terms, or protect the rights, property, and safety of Opal VPN and others.

The Opal VPN app does not use browser cookies directly for its core VPN function. The app and website may use local storage, app storage, SDK identifiers, or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember settings, deliver ads where enabled, measure performance, prevent abuse, and improve the service. Third-party SDKs may use their own identifiers or storage according to their privacy policies and your device, account, and consent settings.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the service, maintaining subscriptions, complying with legal and payment obligations, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and maintaining security. Account, subscription, payment, and support records may be retained while your account or subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward where required for tax, fraud-prevention, chargeback, legal, or audit purposes. Operational logs are kept for limited periods unless needed for security, abuse investigation, legal compliance, or service reliability.

When data is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or aggregate it where reasonably possible.

If you create or use an Opal VPN account, you may request deletion of your account and associated user data through the Account Deletion page linked in this website's navigation or by emailing [email protected]. If an in-app deletion option is available, you can also start the request from inside the app.

After receiving a deletion request, we delete or anonymize account data that is no longer needed, and we ask relevant service providers to delete data where applicable. We may retain limited information when required for legal compliance, payment records, fraud prevention, chargeback handling, security investigations, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our terms.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal and sensitive user data. These safeguards include encryption in transit, encrypted VPN tunnels from the device to the VPN endpoint, access controls, restricted administrative access, and protection of sensitive credentials. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Opal VPN is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Opal VPN, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.

VPN laws and network rules vary by country and region. You are responsible for using Opal VPN lawfully in your location. We may limit access, subscriptions, payment options, or service availability in regions where VPN services, payments, sanctions rules, platform policies, or local law create legal or operational restrictions.

You can choose not to provide optional information, disable or limit ad personalization from your device or Google settings where available, manage app permissions in Android settings, disconnect the VPN at any time, stop using the app, or contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights available under applicable law.

Some information is necessary to provide the VPN, authenticate subscriptions, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations. If we cannot process necessary information, some or all parts of Opal VPN may not work.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may also provide additional notice in the app or through other reasonable means.
